Hi, I'm
Jerry
Hershberger of Racine, Wis. and I am running for a position on the board of
directors of the Green Bay Packers. I respectfully request your vote. Here's my
platform...
As a new member of the board, I
will support keeping good people on the executive committee (Those on it now
are pretty good as is evidenced by the general state of the Green Bay Packers
as an institution) and be supportive of spending money on the football
operation including good player facilities, spending to the limit of the
salary cap and getting and keeping the best coaching staff possible. Over
time, I plan to become influential in terms of the football operation by being
supportive in every way possible while never trying to get involved in the
real football decisions, which are best, left to professionals like Mike
Holmgren.
The renovation of historic
Lambeau Field, which I fully support, is crucial to the long-term success of
the Packers. One of the premier sports venues in the country; it must be
updated.
Making it better for the fans.
Certainly no one likes to spend money on higher ticket prices and seat
licenses, but to the extent they are necessary, I will see that fans be given
adequate time and creative ways to finance these increased costs. Perhaps some
fans would be willing to buy a package that includes fewer games. This would
also relieve some of the pressure on the season ticket waiting list.
More participation by the
corporation in the community.
Suggestions from fans are
welcome... that's who I will be working for... the ordinary fan.
Here is how to vote for Fans’ Man
once you receive your proxy for the annual meeting. If you have already voted your proxy, but wish to change your mind
and vote for Fan’s Man, send
this letter to
the registrar.
Thanks and regards, Jim Hershberger
